Assistance with Daily Living

Live Independently with the Right Support

At Melbourne Disability Services (MDS), we understand that everyday tasks can become challenging without the right support. That’s why we offer Assistance with Daily Living (ADL) services personalised, NDIS-funded support designed to help you live more comfortably and confidently in your own home.

Whether you need help getting ready in the morning, preparing meals, or keeping your space clean and safe, our trained support workers are here to assist with respect, empathy, and professionalism.

What Is Assistance with Daily Living?

Assistance with Daily Living (ADL) often referred to as personal care is an NDIS Core Support that provides help with day-to-day tasks and routines, so you can maintain your independence and quality of life at home.

Support may include:

  • Showering, grooming, and dressing
  • Meal preparation and assistance with eating
  • Light housework and laundry
  • Bed making, mobility assistance, and transfers
  • Medication prompts and personal hygiene support

How to Access ADL Supports Through Your NDIS Plan

Assistance with Daily Living is part of the NDIS Core Supports budget, which gives you flexibility in how you use your funding.

That means:

  • You don’t need ADL to be listed specifically in your plan
  • You can adjust the frequency and type of support based on your evolving needs
  • You can work with your Support Coordinator or Local Area Coordinator (LAC) to include ADL planning in your next review

As long as the support is reasonable and necessary, you can access it through your existing NDIS Core budget.
